Kyle & Jessica {Family Portraits}

Meet Jessica and Kyle and their two furry pups!

My first winter shoot was right after our first big snow storm hit. It was my first time photographing anybody in the snow and its a lot more dangerous then I thought it would be. I was hoping and praying I didn't land on my butt and break any bones or camera equipment. Thankfully I survived! Jessica on the other hand, she barely survived! :D It was so darn cold we could see our breathe. A first for me to be photographing in that type of weather. But we had so much fun!

Jessica and Kyle are expecting their first child! I am so darn excited for them, one thing you will get to know about me is that I love babies!!! I can't wait to see what this next year holds for them, bringing in their first child. They are two of the funniest people I know and are always a joy to be around even under difficult circumstances, like standing in the cold getting their pictures taken. :)

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

*Music Friday*

"To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing."

One year ago today my best guy friend asked me out on a date. I accepted. On the way to our location, we were stopped at a stop light and in complete random conversation he turned and looked at me and asked me to be his girlfriend. It was one of the sweetest moments I have ever experienced. Today that guy (Nate) is still my best friend and love of my life. It has surely been a roller coaster, we hung on for dear life and today we are so happy that we did!

I am typing up this blog from my hotel room in South Lake Tahoe! I can't even tell you the last time I took a non working vacation. I am known for multitasking on my vacations and throwing in a lot of work to help with the cost of the trip. It usually leads to me working far more then relaxing and enjoying a vacation. So I am happy to say that I am really relaxing and enjoying every moment of this vacay with NO work what so ever! It has been heavenly! I am in one of my favorite places with one of my favorite people. We are so happy to be away from the craziness of life and just enjoy and focus on each other on this special day! I am just going to share one song today for *Music Friday*, a song that holds a lot of meaning to me. Nate is a musician and when we first met he wrote this song that completely won me over. I hope you enjoy it...

I am so excited about all the things I have to share with you when I get back from Tahoe. I have personal style blog coming up and a snowy family portrait session that is just TOO cute! Happy Friday friends, enjoy your weekend!

Stephanie {Family Portraits}

Here is my last Fall shoot of the year 2013! It feels so crazy to be saying that, the year is coming to an end. I can hardly believe it! I really love Fall beyond any other season so I am very sad to see it go, but luckily I really enjoy winter! Being all bundled up with a cup of hot tea, watching a good Netflix movie or reading a good book is one of my favorite things to do! I have many snowy/wintery photos to share with you soon but first lets take a look at my last Fall session!

Meet Stephanie and her two sweet boys...

Stephanie and her boys drove a good 40 minutes to have me take their pictures. I had never met them before so it was such a pleasure getting to meet all three of them. Young kids especially boys are never to thrilled about having their picture taken but the boys worked together so well and the outcome was great. I think doing on location photography really lets people be themselves and feel more comfortable rather then sticking them in front of a white color background and putting them in all kinds of silly poses. I feel like once the boys got to climb a few tree's and sit in spots they thought were cool they were feeling much more comfortable being in front of the camera. We shot these photos at Murphy's Park the weekend before the snow hit, hope you enjoy them!
I hope everyone has a great weekend! I am off to Tahoe for my first real vacation in years so I will have so much to share when I get back!

*Music Friday*

It's no doubt that music is a huge part of my life. From a young age I have been drawn to music and lyrics. I am captured by beautiful words constantly and when someone takes those beautiful words and creates music out of it my heart is won. (Obviously, I am dating a musician, Haha!) Being a photographer and spending hours upon hours editing at your computer you need something to help you through those long hours and music has been it for me. I sometimes get distracted when a good song comes on and I cant help but break out in a little dance party with my pug dog Bella. Soooo I thought it would be fun to share with you guys the music that gets me through my work week.

"Daughter" is a band that was brought to my attention a couple months ago and I have been non stop listener ever since. Daughter is an English indie rock band originating from London. The first song that caught my eye is called Youth.

Another song is called "Smother" its such a relaxing song to listen to. I encourage you to listen to both! :)

I think everyone has heard of Lorde by now because of her popular song "Royals". That song is not what caught my attention, the song I have been really enjoying is called "Team". Her music has not really caught me completely yet. I think its something that will probably grow on me in the future but this song I enjoy and will probably have it on repeat soon. :)

and last but not least...THIS SONG! GUYS, Can I just tell you that there are few songs that I literally can NOT contain myself from dancing too. I have heard this song at 6am in the morning on my drive to work, half asleep and feeling like death till I hear the beginning and then I am wide eyed, singing and dancing like a fool in my car! It's so fun and up beat and I doubt you will be able to contain your dance moves when you hear it! ;)

One Republic - "Counting Stars"

Well I hope you enjoyed my first "Music Friday" Blog. I will be posting every Friday so I hope you check back for more and if you feel compelled to, please share any of your favorite songs or artist with me! I love talking music and soon enough I have will be posting about some local NorCal artist that I will be interviewing and sharing their music with you as well. Really looking forward to that! So stayed tuned for much more to come and HAPPY FRIDAY!

Aurora {Family/Newborn}

I feel like this is the PERFECT photo shoot to post while we are all saying goodbye to the beautiful fall weather and saying hello to some serious cold weather! It makes my heart SO happy to be around babies. For me they cure the worst case of grumps and bad day blues. I love to see my friends who I have grown up with become mothers and quiet amazing ones at that! SO here is to the last shoot of fall...

Meet Aurora

Aurora is the new addition to my friend Tranette and Daryl's little family. I have known Tranette & Daryl from what seems like forever. We used to run around the Elementary School playground being silly little kids and now here they are, adults with TWO little ones of their own, Aiden and Aurora! It was such a beautiful Fall, overcast day. I was in LOVE with all the beautiful leaves falling off the tree's, I could have photographed there all day long. Here is the rest of their photo session. I hope you like the photos and don't be afraid to leave me a little blog lovin in the comment space. ;)

Stay tuned for the next post on my latest music playlist that I have had on repeat for the past couple of weeks. You know you want me to introduce you to some awesome new music!<3

6 Things {The Girl Behind The Camera}

So if you have a Facebook, which lets face it most of everybody does these days, you probably have noticed one of the latest trends. Which had something to do with posting a certain amount of *random facts about yourself that people may not know* and if you like or comment on the post then they give you a number to post your own things. Some how I singed up for this, my lovely cousin Steph gave me the number 6. I don't usually go along with the Facebook trends because they kinda drive me crazy but I decided this time, why the heck not! After typing it all out I thought it would be fun to share on my blog for people who may or may not know me. So here it is... I even decided to add more detail to some of the subjects...

Here goes 6 things you might not know about me...
- My dream was to be in the WNBA. I played basketball my entire life till my senior year of high school when I found out my Grandpa had cancer. I have only picked up a basketball maybe 5 times since then.
- My real name is Angelica. I shortened it to Angel when I was in 4th grade b/c I was made fun of constantly...Even though I was much nicer than the Angelica from Rugrats ;) Still to this day if someone calls me Angelica I cringe.
- I work at a Independent and Assisted Living Home as the Concierge. I have a huge heart for the elderly and I know more then ever that this is where I am meant to be at this time in my life. I was raised by my Grandparents which instilled in me a kind and patient heart. They are my heroes and I will forever be grateful for the life that they gave me.
- I often find my self going against most people's opinion of what I should do and how I should live. Not to be rebellious but simply because I follow my own heart. This has been good and bad for me. I am only 25 and I have lived the life of a 40 year old. I haven't always made the best decisions but I know whole heartedly that I have learned from every mistake that I made and believe that everything I have been through has made me a better person.
- When I dream about my future and the possibility of a family, I envision a little Pug dog farm with a few French Bulldogs in the mix.
- I am as low maintenance as girl could get and I like it that way. I have never been a girly girl, and growing up everyone knew me as the tomboy that just wanted to play a game of basketball with the boys. Thankfully I have matured in that area and as of recently have started to enjoy putting outfits together and throwing in a little dressiness with my normally casual outfits.

Hope you enjoyed getting to know a little about me! Stay tuned for a cute little newborn/family session on the blog next week and a possible *Outfit of the day* post!

Isabel with IM Events and Weddings {Portrait Session}

This pretty lady has a genuinely kind soul with a lot of spunk and fun! Which I think makes her PERFECT for planning any kind of event you could ever dream up! Meet Isabel of IM Events and Weddings...

When Isabel let me know that she needed headshots for her new website that she was building I was so excited and this is why, First: Of course to get her pretty little face in front of my camera. Second: To hear all about her web design and ideas for her business she was about to be launching. I love seeing people pursue their passion and work hard to get where they want to be and that is exactly what Isabel is doing. As we spoke about her business and her deciding between what logo she wanted to use and what site, I couldn't help but notice all the giddiness and excitement she had. It reminded me so much of how I felt when my business was first taking off. I think its highly important to keep passionate, driven people surrounding you as motivation and inspiration in your own life. These are my favorite kind of people and Isabel fits into that category for sure. I can't wait to see how far she goes and with all the experience she already has and motivation she is sure to do BIG things! I snagged this little intro off her website to share with you to help get a better idea of Isabel and her business...

"IM Events and Weddings is a full service wedding and event planning company based in the foothills of Calaveras County. IM Events and Weddings proudly serves Murphys, Angels Camp, Sonora and surrounding areas. We were created with the mission to be versatile and unique, like our clients and events. Check out our little portrait session we did and make sure to stop by her website: http://www.imeventsandweddings.com/

It was a honor to work with Isabel and I hope to be working with her again very soon. :) -Angel

Casey & Jeff {Engaged}

Here is a couple that I admire. Their personality's compliment each other so well and they were such a joy to spend time with. Before the shoot we had breakfast together and I am thinking about making that a requirement now before any of my shoots...Food first! Haha! Kidding. But really, just spending that little time with them before the photo shoot was wonderful! It's good to get comfortable with people before you throw them in front of your camera. It gives them a sense of comfort and myself for that matter. They made my job way to easy and they brought their pup along! She melted my heart. Such a sweet loving dog and so awesome to see other people treat their dog like it's their child too. We relate on that SO much! But anywhoooo...Here is Casey and Jeff's Engagement photos! Enjoy...
